Serving our community

Please join us and have some fun.

SERVING IS WHAT WE DO!

SERVING OTHERS IS WHAT WE DO!

About

WHO ARE WE?
Bethesda Medical Mission Inc. is a humanitarian group of Christian medical professionals and supporters united by a commitment to serve others by following the example of Jesus. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization offering free services. We are able to serve our community because of the continued generosity and support of individuals and corporations. Although many of us are Seventh-day Adventist Christians from the Greater Hartford area, we welcome individuals interested in serving their fellowmen regardless of religious affiliation.
MISSION
Our mission is to share God's mercy and love through compassionate medical and dental care and to assist in the education and socio-economic development of global citizens who are less fortunate.
OUR NAME
Our founders chose the name "Bethesda," which means house of mercy, based on the story depicted in the Gospel of John of a disabled man, lying by the pool of Bethesda for nearly 38 years. Jesus simply asked, "Do you want to get well?"Jesus' compassionate and merciful nature commanded the man to take up his mat and walk and instantly the man was healed. This story reminds us that we are all recipients of God's mercy and our aim is to extend that mercy to others in need.

HOUSE OF MERCY ORPHANAGE Construction Project

During our 2014 mission trip to Haiti, we became sponsors of an orphanage in Montrouis, Haiti that was on the verge of eviction. In the five years since we have been paying their rent monthly and providing additional funds towards the purchase of food and supplies.

In March of 2016, we provided a clean water source and structural renovations to the House of Mercy orphanage valued at $25,000.

House of Mercy has since purchased land. We have begun construction of a permanent residence for the orphanage on a beautiful piece of land that will house more than 30 children, a school, and a garden. We are seeking to raise $40,000.

With your help, we can reach our goal!

MISSION TRIPS

Since 2011, our team of mission volunteers visited Haiti five times to provide FREE humanitarian services to over 7,000 individuals. These included: medical consultations, medicines and vitamins, eyeglasses, dental procedures, and preventative care.

In June of 2018, our diverse team of over 80 volunteers traveled to Puerto Rico to provide medical, dental, and construction services to the people on the island after the devastation of Hurricane Maria.

Our next mission trip hopefully will be in 2022 to Haiti. to continue the work we have already started.

OUR LOCAL IMPACT

BMM is also involved in the local community in the Greater Hartford Area and has participated in free medical, vision, and dental screenings at multiple health fairs, recreational and community centers, schools, local churches, and mosques.
